Separating Work and Cell Numbers in User Profiles
Not Planned
Posted Feb 01, 2021
We work with several clients who provide their office number and cell phone numbers Currently when we add multiple numbers to a user profile, we can only exchange SMS messages with the number at the top of the profile. If that happens to be an office number, the text won't go through.
The only way to sort this issue out now is to manually remove the office number and add it back below the cell number. This is not ideal, and it'd be very useful to be able to have some kind of feature to differentiate cell phone and work numbers in user profiles, so we can make sure SMS messages go to the correct number.

Thanks for your suggestion! Unfortunately, this is not something we will tackle in 2024, however, we've added it to our backlog for future consideration.

I have the same issue.

Same issue! Any chance you could fix this design flaw two years after it was reported in this thread?

We also need a way to designate a phone number type (e.g. cell or work) on an end user profile.
