Change Guide language
Posted Jan 31, 2020
Hi,
We started working with Zendesk about 6 months ago. We are supporting multiple languages at this moment. One of those languages is French (FR-Belgium). But we want to change the language to general French.
Is there an easy way to do so? Because at this moment in time it seems that all the articles of FR-Belgium have to be copy/pasted to French.
It would be easier to just change this in settings from French-Belgium to French, since the articles themselves will not change.
Same can occur for EN-US to EN or similar languages.

I'm in the same situation, having a service translated into 7 languages I suffer from the lack of Zendesk features to handle ALIASES of languages.
For instance the french version should be set up with an alias to fr-be, fr-ca, fr-ch so that all french speaking users can see the same articles.
The same issue applies for EN-US and EN-UK, EN-CA...
But also spanish users speak spanish in spain but also in tens of countries in LATAM...
Zendesk is very popular and I'm very surprized such feature doesn't exist.
Hope you can take care of this ASAP. I'm sure more clients don't complain here but would appreciate too.
Thanks

+1 for this, we have a couple of years worth of content on a centralised knowledgebase, being able to change it would be better than needing to copy all the articles.

Adding my vote. After problems with an import, I have multiple articles written in different languages but classified as US English. It would be great to be able to quickly sort them into their proper languages without copying and pasting into new articles and deleting the old ones. Particularly since images are often lost when you copy and paste.

Hi All,
Thank you for your feedback. It's definitely a valid case and an improvement we'd like to include in our product sometime in the future. Unfortunately, at this time, we need to focus on other priorities and won't be able to give it the attention it needs.

Adding myself here so if there's any update i'm informed too.
I do want to check, after doing up all the macros in different languages, how do I create the toggle navapp function to do the switch? Something like the image attached.
