How emojis will rock your Zendesk 😎😍
Posted Jan 25, 2017
At first i was not sure if this is even worth an article, however I am everyday more amused by the usage of our little friends in Zendesk.
Where it all started...
The story starts almost two years ago when I've requested the blocked poop emoji after i found out Zendesk supports them 💩
(click for article)
I will probably never forget this thread, lol. Back in these days the emojis were added as an image in e-mails only, that's why we hardly used them. (but it's safe to assume that some of us had quite a fun by pooping each other on ticket assignments.)
After that the emoji usage got pretty quiet for us until i found out a couple of months ago that my chrome browser is now finally rendering them.
So this leads us to the the actual topic.
Cool stuff you can do with emojis in Zendesk 😎
They can spice up your ticket views! 🌶️
(big thanks for the Quickie app at this point)
Enlighten your Ticket escalations 💡
Setup a warning on special tickets ⚠️️
(big thanks to Tag Warnings)
Make Organizations great again 👱🏻
I think they are just making the interface much more nicer, are a also help for agents which are not regularly using Zendesk (e.g. from other teams) or on some occasions they also help the best ticket masters to remind them about important facts. For example when you are posting a public Facebook post with confidential data, yep i think everybody knows that. 😐
I am everyday more amused by the usage of our little friends in Zendesk.
So what do you think about this article?
Am i silly? You like it? You have even more usages for emojis 😆 ?
I am happy about every comment.
Thanks for reading,
Andreas

To access these on my PC for use in this article, I had to turn on my Touch keyboard... (right click the toolbar and turn on 'Show Touch Keyboard Button')

This is a fantastic thread!
I'm curious, how do you get these to render in your community post title and body of text?

Hello @...,
Really glad to hear you love this tip! So you should be able to either paste the emoji in the title or use this nifty trick if you are on a Mac. By pressing Ctrl+Command+Space Bar you will bring up the following menu you can select from.

Best regards.

And thanks, I am on a Mac so your CTRL+Cmmd+Space hack is game changer for sure. Thanks much!

For any onlookers, if you're on a Windows machine, you can also pull up the emoji menu using Windows key and . or ;

I am on windows 10, I can open the emoji menu but I do not have any country flags in there. Is there a way to add the flags into the menu or copy flags over from somewhere else? I already tried a lot without success.
Would be awesome to have some country flags attached to language specific groups or macro names.

Hey Sebastian,
I did some digging on my end and it doesn't look like there's a way to add additional emojis. You'd most likely need to look into another 3rd party integration that can provide additional options or a way to upload your own.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

There need to be some copyable format somehow. So that I can copy it from somewhere else. Anyone know how this works?

It seems those are unicode signs that are just interpreted from the OS. On my OS they are just showing up as letters. I will test if they show up as something else on other systems. This here shows up as the letters GB for me, but it should sho up as the GB flag on mac: 🇬🇧
