    Hi Scott,

This typically happens when the hardware mic on your laptop / headset is set low. To change the input volume on a headset / mic see below:

    Microphone Settings (Mac/Apple)

    1. Click on your Apple menu in the top-left corner and select System Preferences.
    2. Double-click the Sound icon.
    3. Click on the Input tab to see your microphone list.
    4. Click on the microphone you want to use. ...
    5. Adjust Input volume by moving the slider to the right.

    Microphone Settings (windows machines)

Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.

      1. In Input, select a microphone to see its properties.

      2. In Input volume, make sure the blue bar adjusts as you speak into the microphone.

      3. If it doesn't, go to 'Test your microphone' and 'Start test'. This will help you troubleshoot any issues with your microphone.

    Thanks,

I have the same issue. I'm using a Plantronics headset (I believe Blackwire C3220 USB connection) and have followed the test you mention above. I have the volume set to 100 percent and it still only hits 24 percent.

Is there anything that can be done?
