Federated search works out-of-the-box with the with the latest version of the Copenhagen theme and for custom themes you need to replace a couple of helpers. See this article.

If you are using a theme from Diziana that has been purchased through the theme marketplace and you are on a Standard licence (you don't have code access) you should ask Diziana if the theme supports federated search. If not they can add support and submit an update for the marketplace and you will be able to get that update. In that case you can find Dizianas contact information on the page of the theme you have purchased in the marketplace.
