"Allow" instead of "Invite": Share Dashboard without sending invitation eMails
Feature Request Summary:
It should be possible to grant access to certain users or user groups to a dashboard without sending them an invite eMail to the shared dashboard.
Description/Use Cases:
The support team in our company created a nice dashboard and we published the URL in our company intranet. Inside Zendesk Explore we used to functionality "Public link sharing".
We didn't get it at the beginning, that public link sharing means really public and therefore we had to deactivate public link sharing.
We want to share this dashboard to all employees (= ~650) in our company, which are all light agents in Zendesk without sending them an invitation eMail.
Our company is really strict sending eMails to all employees and would never allow it.
We want to promote the dashboard URL on our own via our department site on the company intranet, yammer, etc.
There should be one of these options:
- an additional checkbox like "Send invitation eMail?" to deactivate sending eMails or
- a "Grant Access" or "Allow" button, which allows groups or users to access a dashboard if they know the URL or
- public link sharing to "Agents only" option without sending eMails - similar like the option, which is available in Zendesk Guide / Help Center.
Business impact of limitation or missing feature:
We want to promote a URL to a Zendesk Dashboard without sending eMails.
The current implementation limits us to inform about and share a cool dashboard containing valuable data all employees.

This functionality will also support future plans, where specific brands are internal-only (Internal IT helpdesk, for example) - those dashboards would never be Public outside the company, and would require a corporate login to see.

👍 Excellent write-up Josef!
I stumbled across this issue again today in looking to share a new dashboard - FYI there's another post with a few votes on it over here too: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4409217042202-Share-dashboards-without-notification (worth upvoting there also maybe?)
