Subscriptions in Sell - we want your feedback!
PinnedFor quite some time we receive feedback form our Customers that they would like to have a functionality that would help them manage recurring revenue. In February, we introduced Subscriptions to address this need.
From now on Customers will be able to track MRR ( monthly recurring revenue) on Contacts and have additional fields in Smart Lists that would show them current and future MRR.
We’d love to get feedback on your experience, specifically:
- What are your use cases for tracking recurring revenue?
- What limitations do you hit while using the current version of Subscriptions?
- What problems could you solve if you didn’t experience that limitation?
- What do you wish Subscriptions would do differently for you? Why?
- What is the “must have” functionality Subscriptions need to have to be able to help you with your daily work?
- How do you currently track and manage subscriptions that you sold to your customers?
We welcome feedback from everyone who is now using Subscriptions. This will help us further improve and prioritise our product roadmap. To provide feedback please comment on this community thread. If you would like to speak directly with a Product Manager on this topic, please indicate that in your comment and someone from our team will be in touch with you.

What limitations do you hit while using the current version of Subscriptions?
1. If it can't be added by API, it's useless, there is no way we'll add all these thousands of subscriptions manually. https://github.com/zendesk/basecrm-php/issues/53
2. It would be interesting to break down revenue so net revenue appears in reports. Possibility to split revenue : stripe fees, taxes, etc.
3. It's unclear right now if we add subscriptions if it's going to appear in revenue widgets?
4. Speaking of widgets, it would be nice to show stats on homepage dashboards : MRR, # of subscribers, churn %, average LTV, etc.
5. Until that possibility existed, we added a new deal each month for each subscribers, it would be interesting to associate multiple deals with a subscription. Or, within a subscription, insert a table to differentiate all the transactions that occurs monthly: woocommerce order #, stripe transaction ID, etc.
6. Even though it's not my case, I'm sure other customers have different billing cycles other than monthly, add the possibility to change the periodicity.

Could you elaborate on the need to have information about external payments within your subscription data in Sell? For what purpose these data are needed for you or your sales team? It would be great to understand your use case.
