Ability for more than one person to view a report in Explore

Completed

Posted Feb 02, 2023

Hi,

We would like to have the reports in Explore accessible to more than 1 person at a time.

At the moment, when someone is inside a report and another person tries to open the same report he/she sees below message:

If you can add the option to just view (without editing) the same report - it would also be fine for us.

Please, consider this possibility as it will be very useful when teammates are discussing a report and need to be viewing it at the same time.

Thank you.

Regards,

Yanko Chakarov

Thank you for taking the time to request this update and share your feedback.

The new report builder allows accessing reports by multiple users at the same time. If another user saves some updates they will be applied to the report and in order to see them you will need to refresh the page on your side.

My apologies that it took a while for this update being released.

Hi Yanko,

Thanks for the feedback. There are no definite plans for this yet, but hopefully, this thread will get more engagement from other users with similar use cases. Conversations with a high level of engagement ultimately get flagged for product managers to review when they go through roadmap planning.

For now, as a workaround, you may add the report/s to a dashboard shared to all agents. A dashboard can be viewed simultaneously by multiple users.

In this remote work world, when someone needs help with a report we constantly hit this game of 'juggle the report'. Even once the other person is out, it can still take up to a minute for the lock to be released.

A good first step could be to just let anyone past the first user view the report in a read only mode so we can at least have a productive conversation about a report.

This is completely needed. Especially since Explore takes several minutes to recognize when folks are no longer in the report or editing the dashboard.
