Microsoft Editor Extention
Posted Mar 10, 2023
Hi,
For a couple weeks now the Microsoft Editor extension in Edge has not been able to modify the text to correct when selecting the correction. This used to work before. The extension works fine on other websites in Edge for example so it fees like it is the edit box in Zendesk that is restricted somehow?
Example when selecting the correction "test" it does not update the text in the edit box.
Thanks

Hey Pierre Larochelle
Unfortunately since this is a 3rd party tool, we’re unable to troubleshoot this on our end. I’d suggest reaching out to the Microsoft support team directly for further assistance.
Sorry I couldn’t be more help!

Microsoft Editor works on every other Web page I have used. It does not work on the Zendesk Support edit boxes so there is something your code that is blocking Microsoft Editor from working.
Oddly in works in this edit box but not in your Support application.

Please look more into this as you're still not supplying native spellchecking in Zendesk and are now breaking 3rd party solutions.
It takes 5 min to test the extension, so there is a difference on unable to troubleshoot and unwilling to troubleshoot.
There are multiple other examples that text replacement options do not work in Zendesk:

We have to take a pretty strong stance on not supporting third-party extensions. That being said based on the description this issue is tied to the same ckEditor bug that the links you've provided are related to. I've attached that to the bug report that we have ongoing internally. Once the ckEditor bug resolved, I'll update this thread.
