[feature request] Automatically sort articles in **reverse** alphabetical order

Posted Mar 22, 2024

Please give a quick overview of your product feature request or feedback and note who in your org is affected by this issue [ex. agents, admins, customers, etc.]. (2-3 sentences)

I would like the articles in a given section been automatically sorted in reverse alphabetical order

What problem do you see this solving? (1-2 sentences)

This will allow me to ensure that articles capturing meeting records show the most recent meeting at the top, by including the ISO date in the article title (i.e. YYYYMMDD)

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool? What happened? How often does this problem occur and how does this impact your business? (3-4 sentences)

This problem affects sections based on articles covering repeated events  (i.e. monthly meetings). It is fairly infrequent.

Are you currently using a workaround to solve this problem? (If yes, please explain) (1-2 sentences)

The only current workaround is to sort manually.

What would be your ideal solution to this problem? How would it work or function? (1-2 sentences)

The guide "edit section" menu allow content creators to automatically sort articles in the following ways:

  • manually
  • by creation date, latest first
  • by creation date, latest last (oldest first)
  • alphabetically (alphanumerically)

Please can the alphabetical option extend/modified to include:

  • alphabetically, a-z (forwards)
  • alphabetically, z-a (reverse)

Please fix this, having alphabetical order work in reverse is frustrating and makes no sense why Zendesk would even try to sort like this.
