Dashboard showing past 30 days date range

Posted Sep 25, 2024

I'm building a dashboard and trying to always show the past 30 days and schedule the dashboard to send weekly. What I'd like is to have it show the date range on top, but for it to always be from 30 days ago until today, regardless what week it was sent out. There will be overlapping data week by week, which is fine, but having it show the range is important.

I currently have each report setup for the 30 days in the past, but on the top of the report, I want it to show the range like this for example:

Then, when it sends again next week, it would show “Currently viewing: 9/2/2024 - 10/2/2024” kind of thing. Now, I've read a few posts about the inability to change the default filter from All History and a “workaround”, but these don't seem to get what I'm looking for

Any idea how I could add something to my dashboard that would be some kind of placeholder that would show [30 days ago] - [today] when I schedule send it out?

Zendesk Customer Care

Hi Kyle,

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to update you on the dashboard setup. Unfortunately, I've found that it's not possible to dynamically display a date range for the past 30 days in Zendesk Explore when scheduling the dashboard.

The system defaults to the filters set for each report, and there doesn't seem to be a way to create a placeholder that updates to show the current date range (e.g., “Currently viewing: 9/2/2024 - 10/2/2024”) each week when the report is sent out.

I hope this clarifies the limitations we're facing. If you have any other ideas or suggestions, We'd be happy to hear them!
