Does Zendesk chat (customer facing) supports markdown language?

Dear community,

 

We are going to integrate Zendesk chat with a custom bot built on OpenAI and would like to check if the bot responses have content in markdown language, will it be rendered properly on the front-end (Zendesk chat on web and mobile)?

To integrate Zendesk Chat with your OpenAI bot, start by creating your bot using the OpenAI API, ensuring it can respond in Markdown. Next, log in to your Zendesk account, go to Admin settings, and select Channels > Web Widget (or Chat) to configure it. Use the Zendesk API to connect your OpenAI bot, making sure it sends responses formatted in Markdown. Include Markdown elements like bold, italic, links, and lists in your bot’s replies. After setup, test the integration to ensure that Markdown displays correctly on both web and mobile platforms. Finally, monitor user interactions with the bot and gather feedback to make any necessary adjustments.
