Create easy options to control link metadata
Posted Jan 09, 2025
Zendesk should create easier options to control metadata in links. Whenever I share links from our help center, I have no control over the link preview:
- When I share a link in Slack, it doesn't unfurl. Others have noted this here, even though Zendesk's own help center links unfurl as expected in Slack. (Why? So suspicious!)
- When I share a link on LinkedIn, it grabs the article author's avatar instead of our company logo in the

metadata. This makes our knowledge base look really unprofessional.
Other CMS platforms figured this out long ago. For example, ReadMe makes it easy to enforce site metadata. I never experienced an issue with ReadMe link previews in Slack or LinkedIn. How I wish it were the same in Zendesk.
