View Automated Messages in Tickets
I have a number of automations sending notifications to customers. While I can add the tag is there any option to have the message included in the messages view (private/public) of a ticket to give a better view of all customer comms to the agents.

You can view email notifications fired by automations and triggers using ticket events. There is a workaround to fire them as agent comments instead of system notifications by setting up webhooks, but that approach is not recommended due to potential complications.
