zendesk app doesn't notify for tickets created using the API

I am using the createTicket endpoint to create a new ticket but the app doesn't notify me on ticket creation. When I would send an email at .zendesk.com address, the app would notify. All notifications are gone when I have moved to ticket creation using API. It is important for us to receive app notifications especially when customer sends an email.
