I want to request support for Markdown formatting in Zendesk ticket body via API requests. This feature is crucial for our application to create tickets with code blocks (```) in the ticket body. Additionally, it can benefit other users who rely on automation or integration with Zendesk.

 

What problem do you see this solving?

The lack of Markdown support in API requests limits our ability to format ticket content, particularly code blocks programmatically. Enabling Markdown would streamline our workflow, allowing for more efficient communication and clearer documentation within tickets.

This limitation impacts us regularly, as our support agents frequently need to include code snippets or other formatted text in their responses to technical inquiries. Without Markdown support in API requests, agents must manually format each response, leading to increased response times and potential errors. This ultimately affects customer satisfaction and agent productivity.

Our ideal solution would involve Zendesk implementing native support for Markdown formatting in API requests, allowing us to include formatted content seamlessly. This functionality would work similarly to Markdown support in the Zendesk Agent UI, ensuring consistency and ease of use across all ticket interactions.
