Issue symptoms
When I try to create a new macro, the action fails and I receive the error Request failed with status code 403, even if I have Admin or agent role with macro management permissions.
Resolution steps
You may have reached the limit of macros on your account. Zendesk has a hard limit of 5,000 shared macros per account. To resolve this issue:
- Verify the amount of shared macros in your account.
- Review your macro list. Both active and inactive macros count towards the limit.
- Delete unused macros or macros that you no longer need.
- Retry macro creation.
