Issue symptoms

When I try to create a new macro, the action fails and I receive the error Request failed with status code 403, even if I have Admin or agent role with macro management permissions.

Resolution steps

You may have reached the limit of macros on your account. Zendesk has a hard limit of 5,000 shared macros per account. To resolve this issue:

  1. Verify the amount of shared macros in your account. 
  2. Review your macro list. Both active and inactive macros count towards the limit.
  3. Delete unused macros or macros that you no longer need.
  4. Retry macro creation.
