Is there an app or a way to generate a tinier URL? We'd like to trim it down and can use tinyurl, but we were hoping to still maintain our domain in that teeny tiny URL.

    Thanks!

    Hi Andrea!

We do have an app in the App Marketplace called URL Builder, but I'm not super familiar with the way it works so I'm not sure if it'll do what you need it to. It might be worth checking out, though.

I also some digging online and found a service called Rebrandly that's a customer URL shortener. I'm afraid it doesn't have an integration with Zendesk, but it looks like it could fit the bill!

    Hi there!

I'm actually looking for a way to drop 'zendesk' from the Guide URL. As described above in the example, it starts with the following:

    https://[domain]/hc/...

So our url looks like this now:

    https://MyCompany.Zendesk/hc/...

    Could we change it to:

    https://MyCompany/hc/...

    Best,
    Dennis

Hi Dennis! Welcome to the Community!

You can definitely change the URL of your Help Center with host mapping. We have a great article about how to set this up, which you can find here!

    Hi,

Some SEO recommendations I am being asked to explore for our external help center is to have a title "slug" in the category URL.  It appears that both articles and sections have slugs but categories do not.  Is this something we can control and enable for our help center?

    Hi

We recently changed the names of our products, and as such changed the tittles of our helpsite documents. But the link still contains the name of the old product. Is there a way to correct this? This is the article, but we likely have others

    https://helpdesk.pronestor.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005948046-User-Guide-for-Room-Catering-2018

Now the tittle is User Guide for Planner 2018

I agree, it doesn't look like the URL's change after the title has been changed. Guess the only way to change it would be to recreate the article with the new title.

Hi Sebastian! I've updated this article for a bit of clarity - the canonical URL of the article should update with a new slug that matches your new title. However, the article will still be reachable at a URL that includes the old slug - or any slug, or no slug, for that matter. If it's an article you visit often, it's possible that your browser cache is directing you to the old URL. After you update an article title, I'd recommend waiting a few days for Google to reindex your content, then check out the canonical URL in an incognito window. Alternatively, you can submit a request for Google to reindex your site manually.

Scratch that. It works after some time. The article is still reachable under the old url though.

Hey Sebastian, as mentioned, that's expected! The slug is not actually used to call up the article, so the article is reachable with either slug included (as well as if you don't include any slug, and just the article ID).
