Why do I get a Shopify error message?

When I try to connect a Shopify store with Zendesk, I get the following error message in Shopify: Oops, something went wrong.

This error message appears when an admin has insufficient privileges in Shopify to perform the integration setup. An admin in Shopify must have the following permissions to set up the integration:

  • General > Orders
  • General > Customers
  • General > Apps and channels
  • Online store > Themes
  • Administration > Manage settings

After the account owner grants these permissions, the admin sees the Shopify OAuth permissions page when they next attempt to connect the integration.
