If you enable Data Residency, the Sunshine Conversations team provides you with accounts in both the United States (US) and the European Union (EU) AWS data centers to host your core Service Data. Thereafter, you must provision your clients in the appropriate region (US or EU), depending on your data locality needs. It is your responsibility to provision your clients appropriately given your business requirements.
- Data that resides in any other Zendesk products or services.
- Data that resides in non-Zendesk services managed and hosted by third parties and the Service Data that is, or may be, shared with such non-Zendesk services (as defined in the Zendesk Main Services Agreement).
- Data that is hosted with certain sub-processors as necessary to provide the services.
- Data that resides in a Zendesk product or service that is in a Beta, Testing, or Early Access Program.
Further, the Data Residency feature does not prevent Service Data from being "processed," as that term is defined in EU Regulation 2016/679, elsewhere, including the United States, Canada, and other countries by and among Zendesk and its subsidiaries, affiliates, and authorized service providers as reasonably necessary to provide the services or as otherwise described in the Zendesk Regional Data Hosting Policy, the Zendesk Main Services Agreement, and the Zendesk Privacy Policy (as amended from time to time).
Additionally, EU data residency in Sunshine Conversations is not available to customers who wish to integrate Sunshine Conversations into a Zendesk subdomain.
