Where is Service Data in Zendesk Chat hosted?
Zendesk Chat is not currently covered by the Data Center Location Add-On and thus there is no contractual commitment to Host (as defined in the Regional Data Hosting Policy) Zendesk Chat Service Data within a particular location. This is due to the fact that Zendesk Chat does not support the hosting of Service Data in either the EEA or United States at a customer’s choosing.
Service Data for Zendesk Chat within accounts created prior to October 4, 2021 are hosted in Zendesk's infrastructure in EEA. For accounts created after this date, Service Data for Zendesk Chat may be hosted in any of the AWS Regions where Zendesk hosts data.
As of October 4, 2021, new customers entitled to data locality are eligible to have their data hosted in either the EEA or the United States, as part of Zendesk’s Chat to Pods Early Access Program (EAP).
