Question
Why do I sometimes get incorrect Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate details for my subdomain?
Answer
This issue is often caused by the incorrect SSL certificate being stored on your browser. Clear the SSL state of your browser, depending on your web browser and operating system:
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome on Mac
- You cannot clear Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on PC within the browser settings. Follow these steps within the operating system settings instead:
- Open the Start menu
- Search for and open Internet Options
- In the dialog box that appears, select the Content tab
- Click Clear SSL State
SSL host mapping is the process of securing a custom domain or subdomain with an SSL certificate so it can be accessed. Host-mapped domains require an SSL certificate.
If the issue persists across multiple browsers and users, generate a new certificate.
