Issue symptoms

In Explore, the filter widgets don't apply to the reports on my dashboard. I want to see changes in my data when I select filters.

Resolution steps

For the data filter widget to work, your filter needs to include the same dataset as the report. To correct your filters, use the steps below.

  • Verify your Time filter
  • Verify your Ticket brand filter and other types of filters

Verify your Time filter

If your Time filter does not apply to your report, follow these steps:

  1. In your report > in the top right corner, below Dataset, note the name that appears

  2. In your dashboard > click Edit
  3. Click the Time filter, click the v arrow > click Edit filters
  4. In the list that appears, tick the name of the dataset from step 1 and the type of data you want to include from your report

Verify your Ticket brand filter and other types of filters

If your Ticket brand filter does not apply to your report, follow the steps below. You can replace Ticket brand with other types of filters, such as Ticket group, Ticket channel, Ticket form, etc.

  1. In your report > in the top right corner, below Dataset, note the name that appears

  2. In your dashboard > click Edit
  3. Click the Ticket brand filter, click the v arrow > click Edit filters
  4. In the pop up, near the Link with field, type Ticket brand > below the name of the dataset from step 1, select the Ticket brand optionTicket brand filter.png
  5. Click Apply
  6. Publish your changes

Note: If you are working with the dashboard builder, link filters across datasets. All reports from the linked datasets in the dashboard are filtered when the viewer applies a dashboard-level filter.
