Discussion: How do you learn about Zendesk product updates?

Hi everyone!
The Zendesk Product team wants to know how you currently learn about product updates and how you would like to learn about product updates, so we can improve the process.

  • Do you currently use the Release Notes and What's New?
    Neither of them? One (which one)? Both?
  • Are these resources useful and why?
  • Is there anything missing that you’d like to see added?
  • What frequency do you need to know about bug fixes?
    What frequency do you need to know about new/updated features?
  • Do you want bug fixes and feature updates together? Or separately?
  • How do you want to be notified about product updates?
    Getting in-product notifications? Subscribing to Help Center section? Other?

I subscribe to Release Notes and also sign up for the What's New webinars. I also subscribe to the EAPs so I have an idea what's in progress and sign up if I can!

I wish there was one article that listed all releases in the current quarter, separated by product; just titles and a 1-2 sentence blurb, link to the full announcement.

Thank you, Samuel Mosher. Yes, release notes are supposed to be published weekly but sometimes we get behind and batch publish a few together. We try to avoid that, but sometimes it does happen. Thanks again for the great feedback!

Our team usually reviews both Release Notes and What's New. They are helpful, though sometimes are inconsistent in how they are written and formatted. Release notes don't seem to follow any kind of cadence (understandable), but if there is a regular release cycle, it would be helpful if the notes went out at the same time. There have been a few times where 2-3 sets of release notes for many weeks will show up all at once after a long period of no notes at all!

An email digest we could subscribe to would be fantastic. Currently, we review the notes inside of the Admin area.
