End Users not able to log in on Chrome browser

Answered

Posted May 13, 2021

Dear Community,

We have received a few reports that some End Users are not able to log in to our Zendesk subdomain. They are receiving the below error

Forbidden

Invalid authenticity token

We have also tried this from our side with correct credentials and we noticed this seems to be happening on the latest version of Chrome Browser.

This is issue is not happening on Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.

Does anyone have any information about this?

Thank you.

We were having the same issues and found an article last week about it. I do not have the link, but this is what it said:

With regard to the error message, you are receiving when trying to log into Zendesk. This error message will pop up when a user has chosen to block third-party cookies in their browser, which prevents the user's authentication request from being accepted.

To fix this, you can update your settings by going to the Privacy & Security settings shown here and change the "Block third-party cookies" option to either "Allow all cookies" or "Block third-party cookies in Incognito". Going forward, your login requests should be accepted safely.

Unfortunately, this is not something Zendesk has particular control over, but clearing cache and cookies or disabling browser extensions will be our general recommendations.

Thank you  @...,

I tried to add our subdomain to the "Sites that can always use cookies" (Chrome) ie exception list, I also made sure that "Including third-party cookies on this site" is checked, and it worked perfectly.

There is no need to check "Allow all cookies" as long as your subdomain is whitelisted on your browser's Privacy & Security setting.

Thanks again!
