Azure Auto Provisioning not working

Answered

Posted Mar 04, 2021

We have had Zendesk setup and connected to our AzureAD for SSO and Auto provisioning for a little over a month.

We could add users to our TestGroup and when they signed in with their microsoft acct. it would auto provision and assign to the correct group.

Yesterday that stopped working with an error in the provisioning settings of "Invalid Credentials"

i tried creating a new API string and updating the App in Azure but still get the same error.

Any ideas, I cannot find any article or help, nor a contact number for any tech support.

Thanks

Hi Michael,

As you may know, when you configure user provisioning in AzureAD, it's required an Admin Username, a Secret Token, and the Domain information.
Since the issue persists after you renew the API token (Admin > Channels > API > Add API token), should look into the admin username you are adding there. Also, under 'domain', try to add only the domain name.
If the issue remains after you review the admin username, try to add a different admin user, you can hit the 'Test Connection' to see how it goes.

Hi Edgar,

Having same issue here, except i was never able to connect for auto-provisioning (SSO works fine).

We tried every possible combination of users and domains, nothing worked. Any suggestions? is this working for other users or it stopped working altogether?

@Michael, have you ever managed to fix this?

I had the same issue resolved by using  "my-tenant" only without the brackets.

error:
Error code:
ZendeskSubdomainValidationFailed
Details: The value provided for domain is not valid. For an account with a tenant URL of https://my-tenant.zendesk.com, your subdomain would be "my-tenant".
