Guide - how to create a new template for articles

Answered

Posted Apr 27, 2021

We currently have the standard template active in the guide.
Now we would like to publish release notes.
We would like to include a template for these articles so that they present a uniform image.
This should contain the images and headlines, the agent should only write the text for the respective headline.

Unfortunately, I don't understand how this can be done on the basis of the existing articles.
Is it possible to roughly create a page and then save it as a template?

Thanks for your help

Hi Daniel,

Hope all is well! Yes, you can create an article template using a pre-defined template through the Knowledge Capture app. You can find more details about this here: Can I create an article template?

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Adrian

The link to Can I create an article template? is broken. However this article is also very helpful:  Adding multiple article, section, and category templates to your theme.

Hello all,

Is there any way I can achieve this following use-case:

I want to link article templates using custom code, but I am not able to understand which URL to give so that I can access Custom Article template from help center.

This would be great if anyone can help me finding the solution to this respective problem.

Hi Mahi,

I guess it won't be possible in the current context. You can change the template for the Article from the settings only. Changing it dynamically by some script won't be possible.

If you want to have a different Template for some articles, you can change that in the Article setting only and can keep the template different for different articles.

Thanks.
