Feature Request: Add the ability to suspend or deactivate Organizations

Yes, please! Our customers are constantly acquiring other customers of ours and on occasion, we have customers that leave us. In both situations, we no longer have a need for the organization. While we can suspend each user, the only thing we can do with the organization is to put an inactive tag on it (so we can exclude from certain reports) and put (INACTIVE) at the end of the organization name so we can clearly see it is no longer a valid organization. Being able to deactivate or suspend an organization would be awesome and allow us to maintain a cleaner and more organized Zendesk.

    I totally agree.

It would be nice if we were able to mark an organization as inactive and have an option to mark all users in the organization (that do not have other active organizations) as suspended as well.

Yes, being able to also mark all of the users as suspended at that time would be a great addition as well! it is tedious to go through and mark each one individually.

we need to diffrentiate between active and non active customers (when a customer leaves for instance).

Deleting the org is not a good solution

Is the ability to deactivate a customer (organization) available yet or on the roadmap?  This is really necessary in order to easily manage our customers and their ability to log a ticket if their subscription has expired.

I am looking for some community assistance on a workaround and an update from product management on when we can expect this on the roadmap.

There are a couple of issues with deleting the account.

Why we would not want to delete an account

    1. We may only be suspending the customer for a short time due to non-payment of bill.
    2. We may have customers leave and come back
    3. We don’t want to lose the customer data - Even if a customer is no longer an active customer I would still need all their data during the time frame that they were active.

Why suspending or blocking a user does not work for us

    1. We have accounts that have 500+ potential users.  As we are set up by domain and SSO – we couldn’t delete a user we don’t have in the system yet.
    2. The account would still show as Active and continue to show in my list of accounts

How does Zendesk handle this?  As you are using this for support I have to assume all of the scenarios listed above impact you as well.  How are you addressing it internally?

    What does Product Management recommend?

    Is this on the roadmap?
