JIRA Details in Custom Ticket Fields
Answered
Posted Jan 13, 2023
We use JIRA extensively and I would love to be able to take key fields such as ID etc and place them in custom ticket fields so they can be added to views, reports etc. Does anyone know if this is possible or would this need to be done in the integration mapping itself?

Hey Graham Ferguson - it's possible and fairly easy to set up if you follow these instructions here: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408825394458-Using-the-Jira-field-syncing-feature
However, and potentially a big however, I have been struggling to get it to sync properly. The JIRA ID works great, but status is inconsistent, and fix version and sprint won't ever sync at all. See my post here: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/5215080843546-JIRA-Field-Mapping

Hi Graham Ferguson,
Thanks for posting your question here!
Yes it makes a lot of sense to be able to sync fields like the issue key and place it in some custom field on Jira.
Apart from the solution provided by Jake Warren, I would also like to mention a completely decentralized solution Exalate
It's very easy to make an integration up and running, and you can do a lot of customizations (like syncing custom fields, syncing statuses, fix versions and sprints etc etc.)
Do let me know if you need any more help!
Thanks, Dhiren
