Bluetooth earbuds working for everything except Zendesk in a Chrome browser (Continued)

Posted Feb 28, 2024

I followed the steps provided by the team in the following link with no results.  I have tried both Brave and Chrome with the same results.  Every single other website works with my Pixel Buds Pro with the exception of Zendesk.  I can confirm that the browser settings have microphone enabled and it still does not work.  I am able to place the call via ZD but there is no audio playing out of either the buds or the desktop speakers.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks so much.

Hi Jeremy welcome to our Community!

Could you also try the following troubleshooting steps indicated here? Specifically the Voice quality tab.

  • Plug in your headset to the computer with a 3.5 mm connection instead of using Bluetooth. A USB connection is also better than Bluetooth. Other wireless devices and signals can degrade audio performance. To eliminate the possibility that your headset is the cause of the issue, connect your speakers to the computer and make a test call.
  • If you use gaming headsets, disable their special driver software. Occasionally browsers such as Chrome don’t synchronize fast enough.

Hi Audrey,

My flagship Pixel Buds pro successfully pair and connect to the Desktop PC that is used for Zendesk.  I am able to both hear and use voice in any browser using any other cloud based browser platform I have tried.  The only one giving me issues is Zendesk which provides me with dead air every time I try to make an outbound call.

I do not have a hard wired headset to troubleshoot and need these Pixel Buds Pro working as they should with the platform.

Thanks so much.

Zendesk Customer Care

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for reaching out! Zendesk only has these parameters for choosing the right headset, please see below:

  • Analog headset: These plug into the 3.5mm headphone socket on a computer and generally give the best call quality. We recommend a dedicated headset for agents. A headset from a cell phone, for example, might not give optimum audio and microphone quality.
  • Digital headset: These usually connect to a computer USB port or digital audio port and also provide a good experience for agents.
  • Wireless headset: Typically, Bluetooth or mobile phone headsets. These will work but might be susceptible to poor quality audio and connection problems.

As you can see, it stated that wireless headset will work but might be susceptible to poor quality audio and connection problems.

Hope that helps!

Hi Ivan Miquiabas

Thanks for the assist.  It's disappointing to find out that this service does not support a modern flagship Bluetooth headset.

Kind regards
