    I am following up on this topic. Do you plan to support not only accented email addresses but internationalized domain names (IDN) and/or email address internationalization (EAI)?

    it is frustrating to have to explain to a customer that we cannot use his e-mail address because of an accented character like ö. When will the problem be solved?

    Brett Bowser, As an international org, we would naturally have a number of email address in our end user list with accented characters. Is there a solution? by changing the character from ø to O, will the email get there? This is a huge concern for us and not the first time we have seen this.

    Hey Jacob,

    Accented characters in email addresses are not supported at this time and it doesn't look like this is on our roadmap currently. I'll leave this post in our Product Feedback topic so our Product Managers are aware of this need.

    At the moment, we don't currently have resources available outlining acceptable characters. And as I have confirmed, accented characters are still not supported up to this day. Due to the potential impact of those characters on other systems, they are disallowed. i hope this clear the matter.
