Feature request: Rich text formatting and inline images in the web form
已于 2022年1月17日 发布
We are transitioning to the web form, away from email for ticket creation purposes. Both internal and external stakeholders miss the ability to insert images inline with text as well as text formatting (from simple changes in font type and style to list types, quoting etc.) which is done seamlessly in an email client.
Zendesk web form currently does not support such formatting nor inserting inline images. What is more, API does not have this capability either, meaning custom web form is out of the question as well.
Question for Zendesk team: Is this something on your radar? If not, could you please consider implementing this feature to increase user-friendliness and boost the user experience.
Question for fellow Community members: do you have any workarounds/hints on this?

Hey All,
Our latest version (version 3) of the Guide templating API has a rich text editor in the request form that allows for formatting of the request description. If the user is signed in, they can attach inline images. If the user is anonymous however, we can only allow for attachment due to security and malware scanning. If you're using the latest version of the Copenhagen theme, you should have access to this automatically.
If you're using a custom theme on templating API version 3, you can add the wysiwyg=true attribute on the request form helper on the new_request_page.hbs template. If you're on a previous version of the templating API, you'll need to upgrade your theme to version 3 and then add the attribute to the request form helper.
Thanks!

Upvote! This is a problem for our customers too as we transition to web form as primary method of ticket creation.

Dear Zendesk Team!
We have this request from customers of ours using the web form. In particular, they need the ability to copy a screenshot and paste it inline into the web form.
This functionality is available in the agent-view editor, but not for the end user.

Hi Zendesk Team!
We have the same situation in our organization and after complete moving from email to the webform our customers began complaining that this is absolutely inconvenient to insert images not right in the ticket body but as attachments.
