Issue symptoms
When I try to build an Explore report, I receive the error message Narrow down your report. Edit the metrics and attributes, or add a filter and try again.
Resolution steps
This error can result from a custom metric creating too many results or your report having too much data.
To resolve this problem
- Adjust an existing date filter or add a new date filter to narrow the scope, such as Ticket created - Date. Make the defined date range smaller to reduce the data computation required. Follow the steps in the article: Working with report filters.
- If your report uses a custom-calculated metric or attribute, check if the formulas can be improved. For example, use the IF THEN ELSE function to specify exactly when the metric or attribute should be executed.
- If the report uses a large number of attributes or metrics exclude some of them.
