After you create an Explore dashboard, you can customize it using the following options:
Add components
Use the Add dropdown list to choose reports and other components that you want to add to your dashboard.
For details about adding components, see Adding and arranging dashboard components.
General options
Your dashboard has the following general actions you can perform:
- Dashboard name: A dashboard's default name is "Untitled." Click the pencil icon to enter a new name for the dahsboard.
- Undo: steps back the last action you took.
- Redo: restores the last action you undid.
- Clone: creates a copy of the dashboard. This also clones all widgets on the dashboard.
- Delete: Deletes the open dashboard.
Tab options
The Tabs menu enables you to create, sort, and edit tabs for your dashboard.
The following tab actions are available:
- Add a new tab: Opens the Add tab page where you can choose a blank tab, or a prebuilt template populated with common reports.
- Delete a tab: Deletes the selected tab.
- Reorder tabs: Click the grabber to the left of the tab name, then drag the tab to where you want it.
- Rename a tab: Change the selected tab's name.
- Clone a tab: Creates a copy of the selected tab.
- Hide the tab menu: If you need more room to work on your dashboard, you can hide the tab menu by clicking <. To reopen the tab menu, click >.
Component options
The Component options menu lets you edit the header size, border color, border and header visibility, border edges, and component positions. This menu appears when you select a component.
It contains the following options:
- Show widget header: removes or adds a header to the component.
- Background color: applies the selected color as the component's background.
- Text color: applies the selected color to the component's text.
- Exclude from filters: prevents the selected filter from affecting this report.
- Edit in report builder: Opens the selected report in report builder where you can make changes to it.
Customizing text
If you have added a text widget to your dashboard, you can customize the text formatting. Unlike the other customization options in the dashboard builder, there is no toolbar menu for customizing text. Instead select the text you want to customize by selecting a section of text, or by double clicking a word.
The text customization options will appear as a pop up under the text you selected.
- Text size: From the drop-down list, choose a text size from extra small to huge.
- Font color: changes the color of your text.
- Background: Change the background color of your text.
- Bold adds bold formatting to your text.
- Italics: italicizes your text.
- Underline: adds a line underneath your text.
- Link: renders the selected text as a link. Enter a URL after you click this option.
- Bulleted list: orders your texts in a numbered list. Every time you press enter, a new line will be added with the next sequential number.
- Justification: opens a drop-down menu where you can select to left, right, or center-justify your text.
- Delete: Deletes the currently selected text component.

Hi Mukesh, thanks for the question! There isn't currently a way to add multiple queries to a dashboard widget. It's a great suggestion though and I'd encourage you to post this on our feedback forum at https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360001200913 Thanks!

Is there anyway to remove the side gray bars from the dashboard so that it is the full width of the screen? I know it's 'pretty' to have the side bars to make it neat and clean, but it's not a very good use of the space.

Hi Trina,
Are you pertaining to the side scroll bars? if yes, to get the scroll bar to disappear, go back into edit mode and either expand the height of the text box slightly to account for this extra bit of buffer space, or shrink the size of the text to fit better in the existing box. More information can be found on How do I get rid of the scroll bar on the text on my Explore dashboard?
All the best

Thank you Cheeny for your suggestion, but what I'm referring to is all the extra space on each side of the dashboard. Why can't the dashboard display in the full width of the page vs. just the center part - eliminating these large gray blocks on either side of the dashboard. You have to cram the data into the allotted space (like you said, reducing the text size and other tricks), which for some gets harder to read the reports.

Hi Trina,
Unfortunately, there is no native way to remove or customize those spaces in Explore. We appreciate your thoughts regarding it and I will be marking this comment as product feedback to make sure that it will be flagged.
We truly value customer feedback and your voice and votes in the product feedback topics in the community help influence future Zendesk functionality.

Trina not sure if it's the thing you need, but have you tried to change dashboard width? default is 1180 and you have a huge white space on the left and right. changing it to around 4000 filled my whole 27' screen. Just keep in mind that it might not look the same on different screen ratios

Thank you, Paweł Felczerek! I finally figured that out on my own just exploring all of the dashboard formatting options. Funny that Zendesk support didn't mention that.... ;)

Are you using one of the pre-built dashboard or is this a custom dashboard you've built?
If it's a pre-built dashboard then the agent should show up automatically after the data syncs.
If this is a custom dashboard then I would recommend checking our attributes to see if you have a filter you need to apply to add the new agent.
If that doesn't help, can you share a screenshot of the dashboard metrics/attributes you're using?
Thanks!

I'm going to bring this into a ticket so our Customer Care team can look into this with you.
You'll receive an email shortly stating your ticket has been created.
Cheers!

Rather than having to choose from a drop down filter, is there a way to set up a dashboard to pull certain assignees automatically, ie my team?

This would be via Bookmarks, when you add a bookmark interactive widget, it freezes the current state of filters. Viewers can switch to different bookmarks to see different filter states.
For reference, please see this article here: Using bookmarks to save filtered dashboard states that talks over adding Bookmarks and just how you can set them up. I hope this helps. Thank you!

Is there a way of configuring a dashboard widget to display impending SLA breaches? I'd love to add this for my agents/groups to allow them to focus on that element of support.

I hope all is well! While reporting this may be difficult due to the sync time in Explore datasets, I would like to suggest you this workflow in which you may automatically alert your team about tickets nearing an SLA breach.
I hope this helps!

After clicking on "automatically reorganize widgets" - i am not happy with the re-organization and I want to revert. How can I do that?

There is undo button on the dashboard tab that you can use however this will only work if you did not refresh the page. I understand that this is not ideal fit given the situation and I would high suggest posting this as feature request in our feedback forum.

I have 2 related questions. I am creating my first dashboard using the new dashboard builder and would like to customize the text on the widgets I have. Using the screenshot below as a reference, how can I:
1. Bold, center and enlarge the widget title of “Ticket Count”?
2. Make the actual number larger?

How do you rename a shared link/URL?
Previously you could change the URL of a dashboard, to remove the random string of text to become
x.zendesk.com/explore/dashboard/{yourtexthere}
, but now I can't find that option. Having a link ofx.zendesk.com/explore/studio#/dashboards/{averyveryveryveryverylongstringoftextthatisactuallythislength}
is ridiculous.0
