Issue symptoms
When trying to sign up for a new Zendesk account, I receive an error that states Please enter a valid email address.
Resolution steps
This error often occurs when trying to enter an address with a prefix like support@
, info@
, or help@
, which are not allowed. These are indicators that the email is a generic rather than a personal email account. The email address you should be entering at this stage is an address that is unique to you, as this will be the address that you use to log into your account.
After you create your account, you can select a support address that customers can use to contact your support team.
For more information on creating a new account, see this article: How do I create a Support trial account?

It seems like your correspondence has come to the wrong place! You've reached Zendesk support, and it sounds like you're probably trying to reach someone who *uses* our software to provide support. We make software that companies use to give their customers a way to contact them, but we don't actually provide support for their product, just the channel for communication.
Unfortunately, we are unable to forward your email on so please try reaching them directly from their website!
