Can a password reset affect my support address? Will tickets stop being created? Does this process work differently with the Google connector or the external address option?
Answer
Yes. If you update the password for an email address used as a support address, you need to update the connection in Zendesk. This process differs slightly depending on the support address type.
Google connector
If you change your email password, navigate to the Admin Center, open the Support addresses page, and click the Reconnect button next to the appropriate address. After reconnecting, emails will create tickets again in your Zendesk account.
Other external address
If you change your password, verify your forwarding settings. Go to the Admin Center, open the Support addresses page, and click Verify forwarding next to the appropriate address. Zendesk will send you an email to verify the address. Click the link in the email to approve the request. After you complete this step, the issue will be fixed.
