Can I use an existing domain for my account?
Answer
If your desired subdomain is already in use, you will run into an error message when you try and claim the name: That subdomain is taken, but we suggested a new one above.
You cannot use the subdomain if another company is actively using that subdomain. Zendesk doesn't allow two accounts to have the same name because your subdomain is your unique account identifier.
Note: As of November 2022, Zendesk can no longer process requests to change the subdomain on a customer's behalf. However, if you or a colleague used that subdomain for an expired trial or a canceled account, contact Zendesk Customer Support.
