Can I use an existing domain for my account?
Answer
If your desired subdomain is already in use, you will run into an error message when you try and claim the name.
You cannot use the subdomain if another company is actively using that subdomain. We do not allow two accounts to have the same name because your subdomain is your unique account identifier. However, the system suggests an available subdomain for you to select.
Note: As of November 2022, Zendesk can no longer process requests to change the subdomain on a customer's behalf. However, if you or a colleague used that subdomain for an expired trial or a cancelled account, contact Zendesk Customer Support so we can initiate a security review.
