Changing a deal’s primary contact

What's my plan?

Deals can have any number of contacts associated with them. However, only one of those contacts is the primary contact. If you need to change the primary contact of a deal, use the Associated Contacts panel on the deal card.

Note: If you email a deal from a Deal card or a smartlist, it is the primary contact that is added to the recipients list.

To change a deal’s primary contact

1. On the Deals page, select a deal to open the deal card.
2. In the Associated Contacts panel, choose a new primary contact by clicking the star icon that appears next to their name.

   

3. Confirm that you want to reassign the primary contact for the deal. Your two options are: Remove and Keep.

   • Remove reassigns the primary contact and deletes the previous primary contact from the deal.

   • Keep reassigns the primary contact but keeps that contact as an associated contact on the deal.

4. Click Remove or Keep to change the primary contact.
