We recommend that you only delete a lead or contact that you’re sure will have no future value to your company. For example, you might want to delete a lead or contact that is no longer with the company or is no longer in a position to make a buying decision.
Note: You cannot delete a contact that is associated with a deal. To delete a contact, you must delete any associated deals first (see Deleting deals).

Deleting leads or contacts
You can delete leads and contacts in your Zendesk Sell account if they’re no longer needed and you want to clean up the data in your account.
To delete a lead or a contact
- On the Sell sidebar, click either the Leads () or Contacts () icon.
- Click the lead or contact you want to delete.
- Next to the name of the lead or contact, click Edit.
- At the bottom of the page, click Delete this lead or Delete this contact.
- Confirm that you want to delete the lead or contact, and click Delete.
Deleting leads or contacts in bulk
You can delete multiple leads and contacts at a time using either the Index or Table views on the Leads and Contacts pages. As with the single delete function, you can only delete contacts if they are not associated with any deals.
To delete leads or contacts in bulk
- On the Sell sidebar, click either the Leads () or Contacts () icon.
- Select the checkbox next to the name of the leads or contacts you want to delete.
- At the top of the list, click Delete.
Note: The limit for deleting leads or contacts in bulk from a Smart List, is limited to a maximum of 1,000 leads or contacts at a time.
