Zendesk is introducing a rate limit to the Update organization API endpoint.
What is changing?
There is now a rate limit of 5 requests per minute for the Update organizations endpoint.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
Zendesk realized this endpoint is experiencing timeouts and latency due to some customers consuming large numbers of resources. By introducing a rate limit, we can increase reliability and reduce timeouts experienced by everyone using this endpoint.
This change also brings us into alignment with similar rate limits already in place for other standard Zendesk objects, such as users.
For more information about Support API rate limits, see Rate limits.
What do I need to do?
No action is required to prepare for this change. However, if you make a lot of API requests in a short period of time, you may encounter the rate limit for requests. When you reach the limit, the Zendesk API stops processing requests from you until a certain amount of time has elapsed. To prevent this from happening, follow our best practices to avoid rate limiting.
