Registering your Sell number to use A2P 10DLC for text messaging

Important: From July 5, 2023, US carriers block/filter SMS to US numbers if they are not registered under A2P 10DLC. 
By August 30 2023, all SMS to US numbers that are not registered under A2P 10DLC will be completely blocked.

A2P 10DLC (Application-to-Person 10-Digit Long Code) is a messaging solution that's designed and sanctioned for businesses to send text messages from local 10DLC numbers in the United States (US). If your business communicates with a US-based audience, you must register for A2P 10 DLC.

Benefits of using A2P 10DLC

Previously, US long codes were used for person-to-person (P2P) communication. However, they lack security and cannot process high volumes of traffic. For this reason, the US has implemented A2P 10DLC.

A2P 10DLC offers stability, delivery reliability, and security for businesses and their audiences. It also supports the high volume of message processing that many businesses need. For more information see Registering to use A2P 10DLC for text messaging.

Note: From September 2023, if your number has not been registered for A2P 10DLC, you will not be able to send SMS to US numbers.

Registering for A2P 10DLC

Registration takes between 5-7 weeks, so register as soon as possible

US carriers use A2P 10DLC, this means that if your business uses Zendesk to communicate with your US-based customers via text messaging, you must register your business information to avoid carrier filtering. To register fill in the Zendesk Sell Text A2P 10DLC Registration form.

Note: If you do not adhere to the guidelines, your registration application will be rejected by the A2P system.
