We are excited to announce that you can now use content blocks in newly created articles, even before saving them.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What is changing and why?
Content blocks let article authors insert the same content in multiple articles. Since their launch, content blocks have been an opt-in feature, which meant you had to enable them in every article in which they were used. We’ve heard from many customers that the need to perform this extra click is slowing down their flow and introducing extra steps they must take to use content blocks.
To address this issue, we previously enabled content blocks on all existing articles by default. However, for newly created articles, content blocks were still unavailable until new articles were saved for the first time. With this small release, we are closing this gap to make content blocks available on all new and existing articles by default.
How will this affect me?
If you are an Enterprise customer, you’ll notice that the content blocks icon is available in the article toolbar on every article you create. You don’t need to take any additional steps to start using content blocks.
What do I need to do?
You don’t need to take any action. However, if you’re interested in learning more about content blocks read Reusing content with content blocks.
