Add custom field option

I am trying to find the right api call to add an option to an existing drop-down custom field. Everywhere I look seem to suggest that all I can do is wipe the options and add a new set. I need to be able to append by api call. Please can someone help me? Thanks

I think you're looking for this endpoint: Create & Update Ticket Field Option. It allows you to create a new option for a specified ticket field drop-down.
