Zendesk is excited to announce the implementation of Stripe Tax to enhance tax accuracy and compliance for Zendesk Marketplace partners. Stripe Tax provides automated, globally compliant tax calculation and collection.

What is changing?
Starting December 8, 2025, new paid app subscription transactions in Zendesk Marketplace will have taxes automatically calculated and collected using Stripe Tax. This solution:
- Supports multiple jurisdictions worldwide
- Incorporates complex tax rules such as the EU reverse charge
- Provides partners with detailed, transparent tax reports directly within the Stripe dashboard
Partners will be billed directly by Stripe based on Stripe Tax API usage fees, alongside existing Stripe fees.

Previous tax handling methods faced challenges with accuracy and regional compliance, impacting partner satisfaction. By adopting Stripe Tax, Zendesk Marketplace ensures a scalable, robust, and reliable solution that keeps pace with evolving global tax requirements — simplifying operations and building trust with partners.
What do I need to do?
If you are a Zendesk Marketplace partner or third-party developer with paid apps:
- Enable and configure tax registrations in your Stripe account for jurisdictions where you have tax obligations.
- Monitor tax calculations, transaction fees, and reports in the Stripe Dashboard under Tax > Reports and Tax > Transactions.
No code changes are required on your end. Zendesk manages the integration.
