Zendesk is excited to announce that admins can now use custom object templates to create some of the most common types of custom objects.

What is changing?

Until now, admins have had to create all custom objects manually from scratch. When using a template to create a custom object, admins benefit from object names, field schemas, and relationships to other Zendesk objects that have worked well for other Zendesk accounts with similar use cases. The templates provide a starting point, but are easily tailored to meet your unique requirements.

Initially, Zendesk is providing five custom object templates: Contracts, Orders, Products, Projects, and Subscriptions.

Why is Zendesk making this change?

Templates for custom objects are designed to make it as easy as possible for admins to create and begin using custom objects as easily as possible. It reduces the cognitive load by eliminating much of the data modeling and streamlines the whole object creation process.

What do I need to do?

This feature is available some accounts with custom objects. If you would like to request access, complete the Request Custom Object Templates form.
