Zendesk is excited to announce the option of whether to allow end user approvers on approval requests.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What is changing?
Until now, all end users and agents were automatically eligible to be selected as the approver for approval requests. Now, admins have the choice of whether to allow end users to approve requests. When allowed, the list of approvers continues to work as it has thus far. When admins choose to prevent end user approvers, agents will only have the option to select other agents or groups as the approver on new approval requests.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
These changes address feedback from Zendesk customers and partners that they need more granular control over who can approve requestsThe new setting for end user approvers gives admins more control over approval workflows and reduces assignment errors and overhead.
What do I need to do?
These changes are being rolled out to all accounts with access to approval requests. If needed, you can use the Approval requests page in Admin Center to update whether end users can be approvers. For more information, see Turning on and configuring approval requests.
