What is changing?

Until recently, all approval requests were created manually by agents as they worked through tickets. Now, the creation of approval requests can be automated through action flows with the Send approval request action. Automatically sending approval requests through action flows ensures approval requests are used consistently under specified conditions and as efficiently as possible to minimize delays in response.

Why is Zendesk making this change?

Zendesk understands that many customer service, IT, and HR workflows depend on consistent use of repeatable approvals. Automating the creation of approval requests reduces the risk of missed steps, cuts manual effort for agents, and speeds up request handling. All of this results in improved consistency and compliance.

What do I need to do?

The new Send approval request step is being rolled out to all accounts with access to approval requests. You can add this step when creating or editing action flows.
