What is changing?

Zendesk is introducing the ability to securely connect these external systems to action flows in Zendesk. With these new connectors, admins can automate work across content repositories, incident response tools, AI assistants, project management platforms, and survey tools without requiring teams to switch between systems.

These external actions make new workflow automation scenarios possible, such as:

  • Accessing and working with files stored in Microsoft OneDrive and lists in Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Initiating incidents in incident.io for urgent operational issues.
  • Using Claude to summarize content, generate text, or support AI-powered workflow steps.
  • Creating and updating follow-up work in Linear and Asana.

Together, these connectors help teams orchestrate more complete workflows across Zendesk and the tools they already use every day.

Why is Zendesk making this change?

Support and service workflows often depend on information and actions spread across multiple platforms. Teams may need to reference documents, coordinate with engineering, respond to incidents, analyze feedback, or generate content as part of resolving a request. Without connected workflows, this work becomes manual, repetitive, and slower than it needs to be.

These new external actions are designed to reduce that friction by allowing action flows to coordinate work across external systems. By expanding connector coverage across collaboration, productivity, AI, incident management, and planning tools, Zendesk continues to make action flows a more powerful orchestration layer for cross-functional work.

What do I need to do?

These connectors are being rolled out to all accounts with access to action flows. For more information, see Understanding the action builder and action flows.
