Assigning distribution pools (round robin) in Sell

I am trying to get an import to work. In the CSV do we have to assign every lead randomly? I thought the system would do it by itself... What if we already did the import? This step has been very confusing and I find the instructions not very helpful above. Please help.

    Hi David,

The "ownership" field controls this on import. If you don't have an "ownership" column in your file, all records in that file will be assigned to the person who did the import.

Otherwise, if you have owners listed for each record in your file, you can map the ownership column in their file to the ownership field in Sell.

This will bring up an interface which allows you to match each owner listed in the file to Sell agents.

Is there anyway to assign the distribution via rest api, like i am creating some record in sell and  want to assign that to a distribution pool so that zendesk will assign it later as per availability.

  • Kaja

Hi Shameen, thanks for the question. The distribution pool creates an additional user in your system with the name of your distribution pool (for example TeamRoundRobin). You can check the user ID and name via API by listing users, then you could assign your lead to an owner_id that matches the user_id of that pool when creating a record.

    Warm Regards

Is there a way to set a distribution pool when creating leads via API?

I can set an owner ID but not sure what would be the ID of a pool?

    Hi Thomas,
Based on the Property and Attributes of creating leads via API, distribution pool is not a valid attribute. Therefore you cannot use it when creating leads via API.
